Info from 1/12/09: Per the insurance company - they are approving the final recommendation from the adjuster. They should be issuing a check w/in the next couple of days. The BOD will be gathering bid information and making a determination on the fence repair. If the repair exceeds the reimbursement costs more than the covenants allow, a general meeting will be held. Otherwise, the BOD will be authorizing the repairs once the money from the insurance company has been received.
Info from 1/5/09: Per the insurance company - they are waiting for the final estimate recommendation from the adjuster. They have received some information from him, but, not the complete report. Once received, they will contact us to review what they have determined.
Previous post: The insurance adjuster has assessed the fence damage and will be sending his information to the insurance company within the next few days. Per the insurance company, it will take about 1 week after that to get a check. Then, we'll look at the cost of replacement vs. what we receive from insurance and go from there.

Tornado (EF1) Damage
As most of you know by now, the tornado that came through last night caused a lot of damage in our neighborhood - primarily in Phase II, however, damage was seen throughout the entire neighborhood. We are truly sorry if your home/property was one of those damaged during the tornado. We all take pride in our homes and hate to see this occur.
The vinyl fence along 41st street was once again damaged - to say the least. Most of it is virtually gone - w/ vinyl fence pieces throughout the entire neighborhood. The HOA BOD (Board of Directors) is in the process of addressing the 41st street fence issue.
On another note - if you find any items on your property that do not belong to you, please try to find the owner - however, it is quite possible that those items blew quite a distance from their original spots. The HOA is missing some of the winter/holiday decorations we just put up - so, if you find wreaths and/or garland, it may be ours. Feel free to post information about any unclaimed items on the blog and hopefully we can get everything back to their owners.
Also, if you can, please assist in clean up. There is a lot of broken glass, shards of wood w/ nails, etc. throughout the streets and sidewalks.

Winter / Holiday Decorations
As many of you have probably noticed - the entrances have been decorated w/ winter wreaths and garland. They look awesome! Thank you so much to Dawn Dutton (HOA Secretary) and her husband, Kim, for taking the time to hang everything in the wind and cold!
The Yard of the Month judging will occur THIS Saturday, December 13th at 6 p.m. Please have your homes decorated and all of the lights on! I've been around the neighborhood in the evenings and it's going to be tough to judge - many of you have really gone all out this year!

Pool Bathrooms - Update
The pool bathrooms have been cleaned (12/1/08). Thank you so much to those that were able to contribute time getting this task done. Thanks to: Frank O. for tackling the "oh so gross" men's toilet and Lisa L. and Amanda F. for meeting me, in the dark, and scrubbing down the showers, sinks, etc. etc.!! Thank goodness for the rubber gloves!
Volunteer Day - Update
The landscaping on November 23rd went really well - although it was cold and windy, we had a good turn out. 4 board members were present as well as a couple of their spouses (Kim D. and Neil N.) and one mother of a board member - who, by the way, doesn't even live in our neighborhood but was kind enough to help! - Debbie R., as well as the following people: John H., Dewayne and Amy L. (and child), Brandi M. (and children), Ross T. (and a couple of kids). Ross also helped fix the leaking water fountain at the pool!
Thank you so much to everyone for volunteering your time to help the neighborhood.

Volunteer Day!
This Sunday (November 23rd, 2008) at 1 p.m. we will be planting flowers at each of the entrances to the addition. Help is needed and would be greatly appreciated! If you can help, please show up at one of the entrances ready to plant. Please bring a hand shovel and gloves. Thanks - we look forward to your assistance! (Note: We will reschedule if it is raining - however, if it's just cold, we will still be there!) In addition, if time permits, we will put away the pool furniture for the winter.
